How to switch from Complianz

There is no automatic importer: GetCookies does not read Complianz's settings or the consent it stored. Switching is a single deploy, and most of the work is checking your scan results:

  1. Export your Complianz consent records before you cancel. GetCookies does not import them, and you may need them as proof of past consent.
  2. Create a GetCookies account, add your domain and run a scan. Review the category of every cookie it finds.
  3. Configure the banner: layout, text and languages, plus geo-targeting and Google Consent Mode v2 on the Pro plan and above.
  4. Deactivate the Complianz plugin and install the GetCookies WordPress plugin, downloaded from your dashboard. See the WordPress setup guide.
  5. Open your site in a private window, decline, and check that nothing non-essential fires before consent. Then cancel Complianz.

Returning visitors will see the GetCookies banner once, because their Complianz choice is not carried over.
