How to switch from Termly

There is no automatic importer: GetCookies does not read Termly's settings or the consent it stored. Switching is a single deploy, and most of the work is checking your scan results:

  1. Export your Termly consent records before you cancel. GetCookies does not import them, and you may need them as proof of past consent.
  2. Create a GetCookies account, add your domain and run a scan. Review the category of every cookie it finds.
  3. Configure the banner: layout, text and languages, plus geo-targeting and Google Consent Mode v2 on the Pro plan and above.
  4. Remove the Termly script or Google Tag Manager tag and add the GetCookies loader as the first script in your page head. See direct script install or GTM installation.
  5. Open your site in a private window, decline, and check that nothing non-essential fires before consent. Then cancel Termly.

Returning visitors will see the GetCookies banner once, because their Termly choice is not carried over.
