Direct Script Install Checklist

The fastest way to add GetCookies is a single script tag in <head>. Follow this checklist for a clean, compliant install.

1) Add the loader script

Place this in <head> and swap YOUR_DOMAIN_ID:

2) Load early, keep async

• Keep it in <head> so blocking starts before other scripts.
• Leave async on—our loader is lightweight and non-blocking.

3) Verify it’s working

• Open an incognito window.
• Confirm the banner shows.
• Check DevTools → Network: tracker scripts should be delayed until consent.
• Use the Meta Pixel Helper / Tag Assistant to confirm tags wait for consent.

4) Common gotchas

• Wrong Domain ID → no banner.
• Script in <body> → trackers may fire before consent; keep it in <head>.
• Theme caches → purge cache/CDN after adding the snippet.

5) When to pick another method

• If most trackers live in GTM and you want Google Consent Mode v2, use the GTM template.
• If some scripts are hard-coded and others are in GTM, use the hybrid blocker + GTM combo.
