Create and use API keys

Generate API keys to integrate GetCookies with your systems.

Create a key

1. Go to API Keys in the dashboard.
2. Click Create API Key and give it a clear name (e.g., “backend-sync”).
3. Copy the key once—store it securely; you won’t see it again.

Use the key

• Send it as a header (example):

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

• Keep keys server-side; don’t embed them in client code.

Rotate or revoke

• Create a new key, update your services, then delete the old one.
• Delete keys immediately if someone leaves your team or a key is exposed.

Best practices

• One key per system/service for easy rotation.
• Limit who has dashboard access to create/delete keys.
